The Topic

The City of Stillwater is seeking input on how the streetscaping should look in the area to the east and south of the OSU campus. This is everything within the right-of-way, typically including the sidewalk, landscaping, curb & gutter and the street. The overall goal is to help provide a catalyst for additional redevelopment in the area.

The purpose of the streetscaping project is to further the zoning principles that focus more on how a property is developed (the character of development) and less on what a property is used for (the proposed or desired use). The project area is east, south, and southeast of Oklahoma State University and is seen as a way to promote redevelopment opportunities and encourage mixed-use development within the area.

This first phase of the project is to gather input regarding how to design a palette of four streetscape types for the area; which runs from Mathews to 6th and Washington to Husband Streets. The City envisions a mix of lighting, landscaping, and amenities designed to create a unique place within Stillwater. The second phase will take the ideas generated and develop a conceptual streetscape plan for the area.

Your Input is Vital

Public feedback is welcome.

The City is asking for the public's input on how you would like to see the streetscapes designed. City Staff are looking for thoughts and ideas on how the streetscaping, should look in this area. This can include where lighting, benches, landscaping, or other items should be placed.

Submit your input through interactive maps and surveys. City staff wants to hear from residents, visitors, business owners, students, and property owners.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
