9/9 Stakeholder meeting recap

Community Development Senior Planner Rian Harkins started the meeting by explaining what strEateries are and what they aim to accomplish. His presentation covered the City of Stillwater’s current standards for strEateries, provided examples of what other cities have done, and introduced some potential ideas. Then the floor was opened for input on a variety of topics including: location, duration, materials, ADA accessibility, and maintenance. See the powerpoint under "Key Documents".

Next Steps

  • Meet with business owners, downtown stakeholders, and other interested parties to develop a long term solution.
  • Assist Downtown Stillwater and its members with place making grant applications.
  • Refine proposed Ordinance 3456.
  • Review text amendment with Planning Commission.
  • Return to Council for approval.
